OFF-WORLD NEWS DIGEST | VOL. IX, No. 2

Welcome to another edition of the OFF-WORLD NEWS Digest.

In the news ...
    • 'Blade Runner 2049' Studio Sues Automaker for Not Living Up to Flying Car Deal. Alcon says the Ryan Gosling film would have grossed more but for $30 million less in promised advertising support from Peugeot. More HERE.
    • Blade Runner Named Second Most Influential 'Milestone' Film by Cinematographers. It has often been said that Blade Runner, Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi epic, was ahead of its time, and today it's proving that again with another accolade, this time from the American Society of Cinematographers. More HERE.
    • Vangelis' new album "Nocturne" is now available on vinyl, CD, and through all digital channels, including Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Youtube, etc. The album features 11 brand new compositions, as well as 6 classic Vangelis compositions, including the Love Theme and Longing from the Blade Runner soundtrack, reinterpreted in the album's lush but relaxed style, with the (synth) piano firmly positioned at the front of the imaginary stage. On most tracks, the piano is backed with subtle synth strings or other laid-back accompaniment. One track breaks the pace: Intermezzo is performed only on synth strings.
