In the news ...
Alcon Television Group, a division of Alcon Entertainment, is currently developing Blade Runner: Black Lotus, an anime series inspired by Denis Villeneuve's majestic Blade Runner 2049. Adult Swim and Crunchyroll are set to distribute the series, Crunchyroll announced Thursday. Crunchyroll is a widely used streaming service that specializes in anime and has recently begun producing its own original anime series.
Blade Runner: Black Lotus is “set to feature top creators from Japan” and will consist of 13 30-minute episodes produced by Ultraman animation studio Sola Digital Arts, according to Crunchyroll. Plot details are under wraps for now, but we know that Blade Runner: Black Lotus will take place in the year 2032, 17 years before the events of Blade Runner 2049, and feature some familiar characters from the universe. More HERE.

Additionally, Shinichiro Watanabe will oversee the project as creative producer, and that name will likely stand out for three reasons. First, he's known for directorial work on the series Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo; second, he is apparently also overseeing the live-action Cowboy Bebop series announced a mere one day earlier by Netflix. I couldn't resist 😊... I made another flip sim in homage to #bladerunner (1982) with #houdini, mixed with a small #blood volume, all rendered with #redshift in one pass. So many #fluids and flip containers to play with in this movie! #3dsmax #vfx #cgi #smirnoff #vodka #glass pic.twitter.com/fhtKbOgIGZ— Q. (@qornflex) November 27, 2018

Speaking of Denis Villeneuve, BLADE RUNNER 2049 finally turns a year old tomorrow. A visual masterpiece that's slowly becoming a modern day classic. pic.twitter.com/9sPjEOs3yp— Jesabel (@JesabelRaay) October 3, 2018
